Recently the monitor reminds me of a painter's canvas. Which presents the image of the virtual interlocutor. The fact that it's mostly imaginary leads to the temptation to embellish. Not the Pygmalion-style. There's a real prototype who makes the greater part of the image. And then you sort of become enamoured of it, keen on it, fall for it. It's almost your creation. It wouldn't fail. It wouldn't betray. Or would he? Frustrated expectations? Yes. Possible to erase him and to paint anew. Or find a new prototype. Easier said than done.
